Tamie Ryan leads Meet Geelong and The Bellarine as the Business Events Manager, overseeing business events and international operations. She collaborates closely with industry stakeholders, local tourism operators, and event partners to position Greater Geelong and The Bellarine as a top destination for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market.

Tamie and her team support event organisers by promoting the region’s exceptional venues, unique experiences, and tailored services, ensuring conferences, corporate meetings, and incentive programs in Geelong and The Bellarine are seamless, memorable, and impactful.

Tamie oversees the business events & international operations. Working alongside industry stakeholders and tourism businesses Tamie works with her team to position Geelong & The Bellarine as a first choice destination for the MICE markets.

Dana Broekhuizen

Business Development Manager

Dana is accountable for the development and implementation of strategies to increase domestic and international travel to the region for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE).

Working closely with the Business Events Manager, she will focus on:

  • Activating new lead generation opportunities across priority MICE markets
  • Building strong, trusted relationships across venues and service providers
  • Coordinating local product to deliver compelling, region-wide solutions for clients
  • Elevating the reputation and brand of Geelong & The Bellarine as a leading business events destination

Partnerships remain critical to our success, and Dana will continue strengthening relationships across the sector - including with BEV, MCB and the Australian Business Events Association - to ensure our region is consistently represented at the highest level.

Claire Steele

Marketing and Communication

Claire Steele joined the business events team in 2021 as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator. She leads the team’s communications strategy, managing digital channels and creating content that highlights the region’s business event venues, experiences, and services.

Claire works closely with local partners and members, promoting their offerings through social media and online campaigns to showcase why Greater Geelong and The Bellarine are premier destinations for conferences, corporate meetings, incentive programs, and business events. Her work ensures event organisers and planners can easily discover the unique venues, experiences, and services that make the region ideal for successful business events.

Abbey Jones

Convention Servicing & Lead Development

Abbey Jones joined the Meet Geelong and The Bellarine team in 2025 in the role of Convention Servicing and Lead Development. In her role, Abbey provides essential support across all areas of the business events team’s operations, assisting with lead management, client follow-ups, record keeping, and event servicing. Her strong organisational skills and proactive approach ensure the seamless coordination of convention activities and the delivery of high-quality support to clients and industry partners. As a key member of the support team, Abbey plays an integral role in helping Meet Geelong and The Bellarine deliver exceptional service and outcomes across all business event initiatives.
